The Transportation History Exposition is the "main event" at the annual Key, Lock & Lantern Convention. This year, it will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Hotel Anthracite in downtown Carbondale, PA. The expo will take place in the hotel's banquet hall. This event is not a typical "train show," but an exhibition of transportation and industrial history displays, and all types of related artifacts. While many exhibitors offer memorabilia for sale or trade, the main focus of the program is to provide the opportunity for serious historians and collectors to share their knowledge and to trade rare artifacts.
All history buffs and collectors are invited to attend, and may register as an "associate member" at the door on the day of the show for a $10 per person fee (If you are planning on attending the banquet dinner and/or train excursion, advance registration is required - see our Convention Page for details). "At the Door" registration includes entry to the Expo at 9:00AM, the annual meeting & fundraiser sale, and the evening history programs. Join the members of Key, Lock & Lantern for an enjoyable day of networking with fellow collectors & preservationists, viewing museum-quality exhibits, and finding something rare and unusual to take home for your own collection!
KL&L Members must register in advance to receive the $5 per person member rate - anyone registering at the door will be charged the $10 fee per person. Please register in advance if possible!
